Kathryn Rayford Impact Manager

Kathryn (she/her/hers) joined Umoja in September 2018. 

Kathryn facilitates Umoja's professional development and training courses. Kathryn is an experienced restorative justice facilitator, having conducted restorative conferences and circles in schools and in the community since 2004. She has been a restorative justice trainer since 2007 when she completed an intense 10 day Train the Trainer through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and Florida Atlantic University.

Kathryn has trained school personnel in over 30 school districts across Illinois as well as school staff in Nebraska and Florida. She has also trained law enforcement and staff at pre-schools, residential homes, social service organizations, and juvenile detention centers, and conducted trainings at Governors State University and Prairie State College. She is a seasoned speaker, having presented at conferences offered by The Illinois State Board of Education, The Midwest PBIS Network, The Illinois After-School Network, the Illinois Citizen Corps, The University of Illinois Mandela Civic Leadership Institute, the National Association for Community and Restorative Justice and the International Institute for Restorative Practices. 

Kathryn is a founding member of the South Suburban Restorative Justice Coalition and P.E.A.C.E. in the South Suburbs. Kathryn holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana, and graduated with honors from Roosevelt University?s Graduate Paralegal Program.
