Kristin Moore Director, Embedded Programs | Site: Englewood STEM High School | Organizational Leadership Fellow
Kristin (she/her/hers) joined Umoja in August 2017.
In her new role, Kristin supports the programmatic growth and success of Umoja's embedded Seminar and Restorative Justice Partnerships and Umoja program staff. Kristin also represents Umoja within the national Building Equitable Learning Environments Network as a leader for equity in schools. Before coming to Umoja, Kristin spent six years of her career in Education, as the Dean of Students and In-School Suspension Supervisor, at John Hope College Prep HS. At Hope, Kristin gained classroom experience in teaching Algebra and Geometry classes as a full-time substitute for two years. Kristin was also a member of the Behavioral Health Team, Crisis Team and head coach of the girls' basketball team while at the high school. Kristin also worked part-time for Youth Advocate Program and Youth Guidance as an advocate for youth and a program lead for after school activities.
Prior to her school-based work, Kristin coached collegiate basketball for two years at top-ranked junior colleges in Missouri and Florida. She continues to support youth through SEL and sports through her summer basketball program "Peace and Hoops" in Englewood.
