Tamara Polingo Restorative Justice Specialist | Site: Ogden HS

Tammi (she/her/hers) has worked with Umoja since July 2018.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Tammi approaches her work from a trauma-informed, systems-oriented perspective, where the individuals she works with are the writers and experts of their own narratives. She is an advocate for all students, especially those who have experienced violence, trauma, or live with disabilities. Prior to joining the Umoja team, Tammi worked as a school social worker on the southside of Chicago. Tammi?s passion for youth and education grew during her undergraduate career at the University of Saint Thomas, in St. Paul, MN, where she studied Psychology and Family Studies. From there, Tammi attended the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration where she received her Master's Degree in Social Work and built a heart for social justice and advocacy. Tammi is grateful to continue to focus her passion for youth development, social justice, and equitable education through restorative practices in the peace room at Ogden International High School.
